Earthenware Nordic Range 1060-1100 ยบ C
The Nordic Range is a low temperature glaze range giving bold colour with a characteristic rutile type colour break.
The range has a Lead Bisilicate Fritt as a base.
Being Fritted means that the raw materials were first melted in a furnace than quenched in water and ground to form insoluble lead silicates or borosilicates. Thus the fritts and resultant glazes are insoluble and when handled correctly and fired to the recommended temperatures are non hazardous, facilitating handling and safety aspects and enabling the Ceramist to design glazes.
The Red glaze is a Cadmium base glaze and is NOT FOOD SAFE. Do not use on domestic ware.
Mixing for Nordic range: 1kg glaze to 1lt water.
