93 Series are a range of low metal release, intermixable, durable onglaze colours for direct and indirect applications, suitable for conventional and faster firing cycles. This range is suitable for glass colouring and slumping, screen transfer printing, direct screen printing, spraying, banding and hand painting.
Firing
For cycles of 4 hours or more the following temperatures are recommended
Porcelain 720-800ºC
Bone China 760-830ºC
Earthenware 720-800ºC
Glass 720-800ºC
Mixability
93 Series onglaze are made form compatible glass systems and are therefore intermixable in all proportions with the exception of iron red 93M1002 and the cadmium colours. Mixing white 93T1001 and mixing flux 93C1000 are available to complement the basic colours from which an extensive colour palette can be derived. The potential diversity of colour tones can be further extended by the customer, using the following guidelines.
Cadmium Colours
The six cadmium colours 93H1001, 93H1002, 93H1003, 93K1000, 93M1000, and 93M1001 are fully intermixable in all proportions with each other. However the intermixability between the cadmium and non-cadmium containing colours is limited and comprehensive end-user trials are recommended in order to establish the effects of firing conditions and colour development.
Gold Colours
The eight gold colours 93A1000, 93A1001, 93A1002, 93A1003, 93A1004, 93A1005, 93A1006 and 93A1007 are fully intermixable in all proportions between themselves and with the other basic colours within the limitations indicated above.
Chemical Durability
Dishwasher durability is tested in a 0.5% Finish solution at 78ºC, in accordance with Johnson Matthey Test Specification 3/1221/803. Results show no appreciable deterioration of either colour or gloss after 32 hours exposure, which is an accelerated alternative to 500 consecutive dishwasher cycles.
Fired appearance
Full gloss opaque. A percentage mixing palette chart available for extension of basic colour range.
